Description

Six Flags over Texas is the longest running park of the Six Flags chain. First opened August 1, 1961, the park has exploded and now contains 50 rides including 13 roller coasters and five water rides sprawled across roughly 212 acres of land spread between a dozen different sections. The sections are currently: Texas, Spain, Mexico, France, USA, Old South, Star Mall, Boomtown, Tower, Goodtimes Square, Looney Tunes USA, and Gotham City.

The theme park currently holds records for: Tallest Roller Coaster in Texas—Titan at 245 ft; Fastest Roller Coaster in Texas with a top speed of 85 mph; Tallest Freefall Combo Tower in the World—Superman: Tower of Power at 325 ft; and the Largest land based Oil Derrick—Oil Derrick at 300 ft.
