The Biltmore Suite, a large bedroom and sitting room combination, is done in an oriental motif. It reflects the interest in the Far East that was popular in the early part of this century, which was shared by George Vanderbilt. Both the 19’ × 14’ bedroom and the 11’ × 15’ sitting room have bay windows overlooking the grounds and surrounding hills. The room is centered on a king-sized estate bed.
The Persian Heriz rug is semi-antique. The bedroom is in a soft pink, and the sitting room, with its twin-sized daybed, is in a soft green. The bamboo recliner is perfectly situated for enjoying the fireplace. Oriental watercolors and prints decorate both rooms. Rates from $250–$305; extra person in room, $38.
