Article: Thanks all for your comments! I see your point, Stephanie. I want to beelvie that college students should know how to still keep the professional level of relationship and that friending is based on good intentions. But sadly, that's not always the case and I've experienced that when, for example, a student tried to find out if I was dating. Because I'm very close to my students' ages, I have to be extra careful. I definitely agree with the rest of you for that friending profs is case-by-case, and that if a prof decides to be FB friends with students, he or she needs to be careful about what to say. It's not rare to see profs complaining about grading (though I totally know the feeling) or disclosing something negative about their classes or students. Of course they never name the students but could be identifiable to someone. I have to say, their stories are entertaining and often unbelievable. Yet, I also think that kind of content could be inappropriate depending on who's viewing.
